Neighbourhood Guide
Getting around
The Manly Ferry departs Circular Quay regularly and takes about thirty minutes, arriving directly at Manly Wharf with sweeping harbour views along the way. Driving takes 45 minutes to over an hour depending on traffic through Sydney's northern approach roads, so most guests find the ferry the easier and more scenic option. A car is useful if you have significant luggage or elderly guests, since the ferry terminal involves some steps. Once in Manly, The Corso and both beaches are walkable from most of our villas.
Eating and drinking
The Corso is the spine of Manly's dining scene, a pedestrian mall lined with cafes, restaurants and bars running from the wharf to the beach. The Boathouse at Shelly Beach is a favourite for a relaxed meal by the water at the end of the coastal path. Harbour side and ocean side each have their own cluster of restaurants, so you are never far from a table with a view.
Family friendly Manly
Manly is well suited to multi generational travel. North Steyne Playground is fenced and right by the beach, good for younger children. Gilbert Park near the wharf is handy while waiting for a ferry. The Manly Sea Life Sanctuary is a popular rainy day activity, and Escape This on The Corso suits older kids. For a longer outing, the walk to Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve and Shelly Beach is flat and easy, with a protected bay good for snorkelling and a chance to spot the local blue groper.

September to November and March to May offer ideal weather with fewer crowds, the same as the rest of Sydney.
December to February is peak season. Expect higher prices and longer minimum stays across Sydney's luxury rentals during this period.
Book 6 to 12 months ahead for Christmas, New Year and Easter. Off peak, 3 to 6 months is usually enough.
